CHS Photography Students Visit Nikon Headquarters

College-level Digital Photography students from Commack High School took an exciting field trip to Nikon Headquarters in Melville on Thursday. Led by CHS teacher Robert Raeihle, the students gained valuable, real-world insight into the professional photography industry.
The hands-on excursion gave students an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at Nikon’s operations. During the visit, the students toured a professional studio space, got an inside look at the Nikon tech room, learned about the Nikon Professional Services program, discussed lighting and shooting techniques to explore how mastering those skills can significantly improve their shots, and test-drove various pieces of state-of-the-art Nikon camera equipment.
A major highlight of the trip was the opportunity to hear directly from industry professionals. Students were treated to presentations and advice from an impressive lineup of guest speakers, including Commack alumni Doug Silverman, VP of Human Resources and Operations, and Frank Pirnat, along with Michael Corrado, Dave Bolger, and Kyle Pinaro.
