CHS Education Pathway Students Observe at Primaries
CHS students enrolled in a new course offering, College Psychology in Education, are enjoying the opportunity to observe education in action at the primary level on Thursday.
The students are spending their day assigned to classes at Indian Hollow and North Ridge primary schools.
One component of the College Psychology in Education offering is fieldwork in which the high school students observe the learning environment at the primary school level. They learn how the assigned teacher incorporates educational theories and practices that have been discussed in the college-level course.
The class is part of the new education pathway at CHS.
Students taking the class for college credit also will be able to use Thursday’s observation hours toward the 100 hours needed before student-teaching.
