CHS Students Chart Topography
CHS lead technology teacher Thomas Shea’s civil engineering class put its knowledge to work on Monday morning. The students used surveying equipment to chart the gradients of the high school’s fields and create topographical maps.
The Project Lead The Way-inspired assignment has practical real-world implications. For instance, the topographical maps could be used in site development to understand water runoff after storms.
After completing the assignment, Shea’s students enjoyed the final minutes of class tossing Frisbees ... which also proved a learning experience.
